October 10, 2007
Dear parents:
In an effort to protect the
health and safety of our children, I authorized random drug
searches of school buses transporting fifth through
twelfth-grade students. This is a part of our continual effort
to make our schools “drug free” zones.
A search was conducted at Rose
Hill Middle School on October 10, 2007 at approximately 7:05
a.m. by the Metro Narcotics K-9 unit. As a result of this
search, the Sheriff’s Department seized approximately 5.1 total
grams of marijuana from a bus.
The investigation is continuing.
Please join me as we continue to
make our schools safe and drug free for all of our students.
With your help, we will continue to do everything possible to
ensure the well-being of our students.
Sincerely,
Nancy S. Zambito
