The ultimate goal of the Jackson-Madison County School system is the development of each student to his full potential as a contributing member of society. The middle school program strives to reach this goal by offering an academic core curriculum that includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and reading. The middle school provides a wide range of activities which promote physical and social development. The fine arts program offers art, band, chorus and music appreciation. The exploratory and related skills program provides learning experiences on a rotating six weeks cycle in computer, foreign language, skills enrichment, teen living, physical education and technology. Interscholastic athletics and other extracurricular activities are an integral part of the middle school program.
