Maintenance and Operations

The maintenance and operations department is located in the Central Office building at 310 North Parkway. The department is organized in six areas, with a lead-person supervising each of the six crews and reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. Our goal is to perform necessary repairs and maintenance to keep each facility in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use may be made of it at all times.

Work Request Procedure

All work requests must come to the maintenance department from the school principal or central office supervisor. Anyone who is aware of a problem that needs to be corrected at a school system facility is asked to contact the principal and make them aware of the problem. If you do not see results or get answers to your questions please contact us here at the maintenance office.

Facilities Management

Improvement of educational facilities is one issue in the Jackson-Madison County School System’s current process to attain unitary status. Coordination of the planning and design of new school buildings to be built under the system’s long-range building plan will be the primary responsibility of the Facilities Manager.
